NOKIAN TYRES COMPLETES ITS VIANOR TYRE CHAIN IN SWEDEN

Nokian Tyres completes its Vianor tyre chain in Sweden with the purchase of Däckaffären 2000 AB. Däckaffären 2000 AB consists of 13 tyre outlets in southern and central Sweden. The purchase price is EUR 4,3 million and the company is being sold by Mr. Börje Ernedahl and Kurt Johansson.

- The acquisition is a part of Nokian Tyres' strategy aiming at strengthening the position and increasing sales in the important home market area. Vianor chain covers now better the major cities and growth centres in Sweden, says Mr. Kim Gran, President and CEO of Nokian Tyres.

Däckaffären 2000 AB's net sales in year 2000 totalled to 110 million Swedish crowns and it employs 70 people. The company has produced positive results.

The profit of Däckaffären 2000 AB will be consolidated into Vianor AB as of 1st November 2001.

After the purchase Vianor has 50 own outlets in Sweden and a total of 170 outlets in five countries.
