The Nokian winter tyre is the test winner in the 2012 winter tyre test by German motoring magazine, "auto motor und sport", scoring "highly recommended"

"Outstanding performance on snow, short braking distances on dry roads, and balanced handling”

Nokian WR D3 gained 99 of 100 points on snow

Nokian winter tyres also "highly recommended" by German automobile association ADAC, German motoring magazine "Auto Zeitung", Car Club Europe ACE, ARBÖ, and GTÜ

The Nokian winter tyre is the test winner in the 2012 winter tyre test by German motoring magazine "auto motor und sport", scoring the top grade of "highly recommended". The Nokian WR D3 winter tyre is awarded "BEST in test". "Excellent performance on snow, short braking distance on dry surfaces, and balanced ride” is the assessment of "auto motor und sport".

The Nokian winter tyre also scores "highly recommended" in the 2012 winter tyre tests conducted by the German automobile association ADAC, the German motoring magazine "Auto Zeitung", Car Club Europe ACE, ARBÖ (the Austrian association of motorists, motorcyclists, and cyclists), and GTÜ (the German technical inspection organisation), as well as "very good" from the German caravan magazine "pro mobil" and German fleet magazine "Firmenauto Transporter".

Test victor Nokian WR D3 wins by a large margin in the snow test for "auto motor sport": "The Nokian pulls off the win, scoring 99 out of 100 on snow", declares the headline above the test results in the well-known German car magazine. "Excellent braking, traction, and cornering as well as safe driving on snow" are important attributes for a good winter tyre. "Such as the Nokian WR D3, which surpassed the entire competition on snow, having won 99 out of 100 points. The Finnish tyre is even safe to drive on wet roads; the test criteria for dry conditions were equally solid: Test victory."

The braking distance of the Nokian tyre from 50 km/h on snow is 4.8 metres shorter than the worst of the tested tyres. Test winner Nokian is also number one on dry roads, demonstrating thereby major strengths in terms of braking distance on dry roads and handling, and scoring top marks in both disciplines. The braking test is a key factor for car tyres as regards driving safety.

The Nokian WR D3 gets the best mark “good” in the ADAC test and is the snow expert

The Nokian tyre achieves the best mark “good” in the ADAC test, which corresponds to the former "highly recommended" assessment. ADAC writes: “Strengths: Very balanced tyre, good on snow”. The biggest European automobile association does not indicate any weaknesses for it in its strengths and weaknesses judgement.
"With top scores on snow, the Nokian secures second place overall", states "Auto Zeitung" in summarising its test results. It is a clear winner in the snow test. "The WR D3 is the snow expert. It has tremendous grip in handling and it responds very quickly. Traction is another strong point. … Excellent braking on wet roads." "Dry" test verdict: "The Finn is agile in the slalom". "Quiet external road noise."
The Nokian's strengths of "safety in the winter" and "safety in dry conditions" are also demonstrated in the ACE test: "The Finnish Nokian demonstrates a particularly short braking distance on dry roads."

The test win and outstanding test results confirm the excellent driving safety of the winter tyres from leading winter tyre specialist Nokian Tyres, as well as the good image of the Nordic premium brand. 13 "state-of-the-art" tyres, size 205/55 R 16 H, for small, compact, and mid-size cars were used for the "auto motor sport" test. Eight premium winter tyres, including 205/55 R 16 H, were tested by "Auto Zeitung". "Seven current tread patterns on 215/65 R 16 tyres" were evaluated in the ACE winter tyre test.

"Finland's Nokian swept the board in the winter disciplines. It can be relied on even under dry conditions" was the assessment of "sport auto", the specialist performance car magazine. This is now backed up by the scores awarded by "auto motor sport" in the test report.

Nokian is the inventor of the winter tyre

Nokian has been designing, testing, and patenting innovative tyres for more than 75 years and is the inventor of the winter tyre. In 2007, the Nokian WR G2 was introduced, it was rated as "highly recommended" and "good" in tests for its outstanding grip and unique protection against slush planing. Its success story is now being continued with the safe and economical Nokian WR D3 as well as the safe and sporty WR A3: the Nokian WR winter tyre is the winner in the Winter Tyre test 2012 conducted by "auto motor sport", scoring "highly recommended". "Outstanding performance on snow, short braking distances on dry roads, and balanced handling," is the positive "assessment".
The Nokian winter tyre is also "highly recommended" in the 2012 winter tyre tests of "Auto Zeitung", Auto Club Europa ACE, ARBÖ, and GTUE, as well as "very good" for "pro mobil" and "Firmenauto Transporter".
